Total: 20 credit hours β 3 hours ethics and 17 hours of property and casualty continuing education credit. Bought separately these 6 courses would cost $89.94, so the package saves $49.95.
β Who Should Take This Package?
- Georgia resident insurance producers who have held a license for more than 20 years
- Property and casualty licensees whose Sircon transcript shows a 20-hour requirement rather than 24
- Long-tenured agents writing homeowners, personal auto, umbrella, flood or commercial accounts
- Producers who want the exact reduced requirement without paying for hours they no longer need
- Agents renewing a Georgia producer license for a new two-year period
- Long-tenured agents who want to bank surplus credit, which Georgia allows up to 50% of the requirement
β Does This Package Satisfy the State Requirement?
This package is designed to provide all 20 credit hours Georgia requires of a licensee with more than 20 years of service, and to cover the ethics mandate inside that total.
- The 3 Hour Ethics for Insurance Agents course is designed to satisfy Georgia's 3-hour ethics requirement, which applies in every renewal period and cannot be met with carried-forward hours.
- The remaining 17 hours come from five approved property and casualty courses that count as general continuing education credit.
- Together they total exactly 20 hours β the full reduced requirement, with nothing left to buy and nothing spent on hours you did not need.
What this package does not do is decide your tier for you. If you have held your license for less than 20 years, Georgia still requires 24 hours and this package leaves you 4 short β the 24-Hour Property and Casualty package is the one you want. If you hold an approved designation such as CPCU, CIC, AAI or CFP, your requirement may be only 12 hours, and proof has to be submitted to the office. Workers' compensation adjusters are a separate program entirely, run through the Georgia State Board of Workers' Compensation, and this package does not serve it. Check the hours Georgia is actually asking for on your Sircon transcript before you buy.
β Georgia Continuing Education Requirements
Georgia continuing education is set by the Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire and is completed biennially, on or before the last day of your birth month. The total depends on how long you have held your license.
- Less than 20 years of service: 24 hours, 3 of them ethics
- More than 20 years of service: 20 hours, 3 of them ethics β an automatic 4.0-hour reduction that began in 2026
- Approved professional designation: 12 hours, 3 of them ethics, with proof submitted to the office
- Credit insurance only: 10 hours self-study, no ethics requirement
- Limited subagent only: 10 hours, no ethics requirement
- Workers' compensation adjuster only: 20 hours through the Workers' Compensation Board, no ethics requirement
- Renewal cycle: Biennially, on or before the last day of your birth month
- Carryover: Excess credit carries forward, capped at 50% of the biennial requirement
- Ethics carryover: Ethics must be completed every period β excess ethics hours carry forward but cannot satisfy the next period's ethics requirement
- Repeat courses: No credit for the same course taken more than once in the same reporting period
The 20-year reduction is applied automatically, so there is nothing to file for it. The designation reduction is different β a licensee holding CPCU, CLU, FLMI, CIC, CEBS, ChFC, AAI, CFP or a major BBA in Risk Management and Insurance drops to 12 hours, but must submit proof to the office. Reductions and exemptions for insurance-related activities such as teaching, legislative work, journalism or research are requested through Sircon's Additional State Service Requests, on or before the CE filing deadline. A licensee on non-active status is exempt while non-active, provided the license is renewed on time. Your continuing education transcript is at Sircon.com/georgia.
How this package helps: This package provides all 20 credit hours required of a Georgia licensee with more than 20 years of service, including the 3 ethics hours. For a property and casualty producer in that tier it is designed to complete the full requirement with no additional course needed. It does not cover a licensee still in the 24-hour tier, who would be 4 hours short.
β When Do Licensees Renew?
Georgia producer licenses renew biennially, on or before the last day of your birth month. The continuing education has to be complete by that same date, so your deadline is personal to you rather than a statewide date β two agents in the same agency will usually have different ones.
Because the 20-hour reduction is applied automatically once you pass 20 years of service, the safest move is to open your transcript at Sircon.com/georgia and read the hours Georgia is actually asking you for before you buy. If the record still shows 24, you are not yet in the reduced tier and the 24-hour package is the one you want.
Finishing early is not wasted. Georgia lets you carry excess credit forward into the next filing period, up to 50% of the biennial requirement. Ethics is the exception β it must be completed every period, and surplus ethics hours carry over only as general credit.
β How to Renew Your Georgia Producer License
- Step 1: Confirm which hour tier applies to you
Open your transcript at Sircon.com/georgia and check whether Georgia is asking for 24 hours or 20. The 20-hour reduction for more than 20 years of service is applied automatically; the 12-hour designation reduction is not, and requires proof submitted to the office. - Step 2: Check your license expiration date
Georgia renews biennially on or before the last day of your birth month. Confirm the exact date and your license status on your own record rather than working from memory. - Step 3: Complete all required hours, including the 3 ethics hours
Ethics must be completed every renewal period and cannot be satisfied with hours carried forward from the previous one. - Step 4: Allow time for the completion to post
1st Choice CE reports your completions to Georgia. Credits appear on your Sircon transcript after the state processes them, so do not leave the last course for the final day. - Step 5: Verify the hours on your transcript
Check that every hour shows on your Sircon record and that the ethics hours posted in the ethics category rather than as general credit. - Step 6: Renew the license and pay the state fee
Follow the renewal notice from the Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire and complete the renewal through the method it names. - Step 7: Confirm the renewed license
After submitting, check that your license shows an active status with the new expiration date before you treat the renewal as finished.

β Frequently Asked Questions
Is this package approved by the Georgia Office of Commissioner of Insurance?
Yes. Every course in the package is a separately approved Georgia continuing education course under provider #243388.
How many hours does Georgia require?
24 hours per two-year cycle for licensees with less than 20 years of service, and 20 hours for those with more than 20 years. Both tiers include 3 hours of ethics.
How do I know if I qualify for the 20-hour requirement?
Georgia applies the 4.0-hour reduction automatically once you pass 20 years of service, so the quickest check is your own transcript at Sircon.com/georgia. If it shows 20 hours, this package is built for you.
Do I have to apply for the reduction?
No. The 20-year reduction is automatic. The separate 12-hour designation reduction is not automatic and does require proof submitted to the office.
The 24-hour package includes a commercial lines course. Why doesn't this one?
Something had to come out to reach 20 hours exactly. The 4-hour Commercial Lines course is the one most personal-lines agents use least, so it is the cleanest thing to drop. It is available separately if you want it, and the hours would carry forward.
I am a workers' compensation adjuster. Is this package for me?
No. Workers' compensation adjusters complete 20 hours through the Georgia State Board of Workers' Compensation, with no ethics requirement. That is a separate program from producer continuing education and this package does not satisfy it.
Does this package include the required ethics hours?
Yes. The 3 Hour Ethics for Insurance Agents course is designed to satisfy Georgia's 3-hour ethics requirement.
Can I use carried-forward hours for the ethics requirement?
No. Georgia requires ethics to be completed every renewal period. Surplus ethics hours carry forward but count only as general credit in the next period.
Is the package online and self-paced?
Yes. Every course is 100% online and self-paced, with no classroom attendance and no scheduled sessions.
Can I log out and come back later?
Yes. You can log in and out as often as you like and your progress is saved, so you can finish one course at a time over several sittings.
When do I get my certificate?
Your certificate is emailed to you immediately when you complete each course.
Who reports my completion to Georgia?
1st Choice CE reports your completions to Georgia, normally within 24 hours. You should still confirm the hours appear on your Sircon transcript.
When is my continuing education due?
Biennially, on or before the last day of your birth month. Check your expiration date on your own license record.
Do extra hours go to waste?
No. Georgia lets you carry excess credit forward to the next filing period, capped at 50% of the biennial requirement.
Is there a money-back guarantee?
Yes. If the package is not what you needed, contact us by phone or text at 1-800-698-2770.
