βœ… Who Should Take This Course?

  • Florida certified pest control operators who hold the General Household Pest, Termite and Lawn & Ornamental categories and want their complete annual CE in one course
  • Limited Structural or Limited Lawn & Ornamental holders, if FDACS grants the limited-category credit requested

βœ… Does This Course Satisfy the Florida Requirement?

This course is designed to satisfy the complete annual CE requirement in s. 482.111(10), F.S., for a Florida certified operator who holds exactly the General Household Pest, Termite and Lawn & Ornamental categories: 2 Core hours plus 2 hours in each category, 8 CEUs in total.

It does not include Fumigation hours, so an operator who also holds Fumigation needs 2 more approved hours in that category, and no CEUs can be credited until FDACS approval is posted here.

βœ… Florida Pest Control CE Requirements

Florida certified pest control operators renew every year, and FDACS may not renew the certificate unless the CE requirement in s. 482.111(10), F.S., is met (or the operator passes the department's exam):

  • Core: 2 hours of approved CE on legislation, safety, pesticide labeling and integrated pest management
  • Each category held: 2 hours of approved CE in that category (General Household Pest, Lawn & Ornamental, Termite or Fumigation)
  • Operator holding GHP + Termite + L&O: 2 Core + 6 category = 8 CEUs per year (10 if Fumigation is also held)
  • Credit: 1 CEU = 50 minutes; FDACS-approved online programs count the same as classroom programs

How this course helps: Once FDACS approval is posted, this 8-CEU course is designed to provide all 8 hours a certified operator holding the General Household Pest, Termite and Lawn & Ornamental categories needs each year: 2 Core plus 2 in each category. If you also hold Fumigation, it covers 8 of your 10 hours; the 2 Fumigation hours must be completed separately.

βœ… When Do Certified Operators Renew?

A Florida pest control operator certificate is valid for one year from its issuance date and must be renewed annually on or before that anniversary date, with CE completed first.

FDACS allows up to a 30-day grace period before adding a $50 late renewal charge; after 60 days, reexamination is required. Limited Structural and Limited Lawn & Ornamental certificates (s. 482.155, F.S.) renew every 4 years with 4 hours of CE.

βœ… How to Renew Your Operator Certificate

  1. Confirm your record on the FDACS AES licensing portal (aeslicensing.fdacs.gov): categories, expiration date and CEUs.
  2. Complete 2 Core hours plus 2 hours per category held before your expiration date; once approved, this course supplies all 8.
  3. Pass the final exam and save the Record of Attendance emailed to you; allow up to two weeks for the CEUs to be entered, then confirm they appear on your FDACS record.
  4. Renew online through the FDACS portal when your renewal notice arrives, updating any changed contact information.
  5. Pay the renewal fee set by FDACS rule (s. 482.111(7), F.S., caps it at $150) on or before your anniversary date to avoid the $50 late charge, then save your receipt and verify the new expiration date on your certificate.
